SWITCH, which is part of the Interreg Italy-Switzerland 2021-2027 program, addresses crucial issues for the cooperation area between the two countries.
The core of the problem lies in the excessive traffic load on cross-border roads and border crossings, which creates congestion and a significant environmental impact on fragile Alpine natural areas. Through a multidisciplinary approach, SWITCH aims to foster a modal shift from road to rail, integrating logistics expertise, policy governance, and advanced Artificial Intelligence technologies.
OptiModal AI, a cutting-edge platform based on Artificial Intelligence algorithms to support operational and strategic decisions, will be presented at the September 23 meeting.
