Technical Glossary

For non-experts, we have prepared a guide to the technical terms used in our documentation (Gabarit, TEU, TEN-T, RSO).

1GABARIT

The railway Gabarit defines the maximum dimensions of a vehicle or load that can travel on a given line without hitting obstacles or other trains.

2TEU (Twenty-foot Equivalent Unit)

Standard unit of measurement in container transport, equivalent to a 20-foot container.

3TEN-T (Trans-European Transport Network)

Trans-European Transport Network, a set of linear (roads, railways, inland waterways) and specific (nodes) infrastructures for free movement.
